Cookie Policy

A cookie is a small piece of data that a website asks your browser to keep, so the site can recognise your browser later. Local storage and session storage are two other places inside your browser where a website can save small pieces of data for the same purpose. All three exist so that a site can remember something about your visit between page loads, without you having to re-enter it.

Athens Yachts Rental does not set any cookies on this website. We also do not install any third-party analytics, advertising, or social-media tracking tools. We rely instead on our own first-party measurement, described below, and on the local and session storage entries listed in the table.

A script served from our own domain counts visits to the site. It records the pages you viewed, time spent on a page, the site that referred you, any campaign parameters carried in the link (such as UTM tags or an ad click identifier), your device type, browser, operating system, screen size, browser language, and the country worked out from your IP address. The IP address itself is not stored. If you send an enquiry or tap a WhatsApp or phone link, that action is linked to the same visit, so we know which channel brought your enquiry. This measurement uses the two random identifiers in local storage described in the table; they expire 30 days after your last visit.

Beyond the visit identifiers, your browser may hold two small entries set by this site: one remembers that you dismissed the cookie notice, and one remembers which yacht you were looking at so the enquiry form opens pre-filled. Neither entry contains your name, email, phone number, or any other contact detail. Details of both, including how long each lasts, are in the table above.

Two outside services are called when you load our pages: Google Fonts supplies the typefaces, and jsDelivr supplies the library that formats the phone number field in the enquiry form. Neither sets a cookie for us. Because your browser connects to their servers directly to fetch these files, each of them receives your IP address as a normal part of that connection, under its own privacy terms.

The WhatsApp buttons on our pages do not place anything on your device and do not open a chat on their own. Tapping one opens the WhatsApp application or website with a message already drafted; before that tap, our site records the page you were on, the referring site, your browser language, and the prefilled message text in our own booking system, so our team can follow up. Once WhatsApp opens, the conversation itself runs on WhatsApp, operated by Meta, under WhatsApp's own privacy policy, which we do not control.

You can see, block, or delete local storage, session storage, and any cookies through your browser's settings, usually under privacy or site data; clearing site data will remove the entries listed in the table above. Blocking them will not stop you from browsing the site or sending an enquiry, though your yacht selection may no longer carry over automatically into the form.

We will update this page if the storage we use changes. If we ever decide to add a cookie or similar technology that is not strictly necessary for the site to work, we will ask for your consent first, in line with the ePrivacy rules as implemented in Greece. Questions about this policy, or requests about your data, can be sent to [email protected], and we will respond within one month; we may ask you to confirm your identity first. You can also bring a complaint to the Hellenic Data Protection Authority, the supervisory authority for Greece.
