1. Scope and who we are
Athens Yachts Rental is the brand under which ebowling.eu offers crewed yacht and boat charters departing from Athens. Our fleet listed on the site includes around 38 vessels — superyachts, yachts, day-boats, sport-yachts and catamarans — with day rates starting from €1,700 and varying by vessel, season and itinerary.
These terms apply to all charters booked through the site, by email, phone or WhatsApp. By sending an enquiry or confirming a booking you accept them. For any question about a booking, write to [email protected].
2. From enquiry to confirmed booking
No charter is paid or confirmed online. You tell us what you need — through the enquiry form, by email, phone or WhatsApp — and we reply with a written quote covering the yacht, dates, price and inclusions.
- The enquiry form asks for name, email, phone (optional), preferred yacht (optional), charter start and end dates, number of guests and a message.
- A booking becomes binding only once we confirm it in writing and the deposit set out below is received.
- Verbal discussions, availability checks and draft quotes are not a booking.
3. Prices and what is included
The price in your written quote is the charter price for the yacht, dates and itinerary agreed. It is the only price that applies to your booking; we do not add charges that were not quoted.
- Fuel, marina fees, the advance provisioning allowance (APA) on larger yachts, catering and any other extras are charged exactly as stated in the written quote.
- If an item is not mentioned in your quote, it is not part of the charter and will not be invoiced afterwards.
4. Payment, deposit and the 14-day withdrawal right
A booking is confirmed once we receive a 50% deposit. The remaining balance is due 7 days before departure.
Under EU consumer law, the general 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts (Directive 2011/83/EU) does not apply to leisure services booked for a specific date or period, under Article 16(l) of that Directive. A yacht charter is exactly such a service, so once a booking is confirmed you cannot withdraw from it under that 14-day rule.
Instead, we offer the voluntary cancellation and date-change policy set out below, which is more flexible than the statutory minimum and applies to every confirmed booking.
5. Cancellation and changes by the client
If you need to cancel a confirmed charter, the refund depends on how far in advance you tell us:
- More than 14 days before departure: full refund.
- 7 to 14 days before departure: 50% refund.
- Less than 7 days before departure: no refund.
You may change the charter date once free of charge, provided you ask more than 7 days before departure and the new date is available on the chosen yacht. Further changes are treated as a new booking request and are subject to availability and, where applicable, a new quote.
6. Cancellation by us
We may need to cancel or amend a charter for reasons beyond normal planning, including:
- Weather or sea conditions that the captain or the port authority considers unsafe.
- A technical problem with the yacht that makes the planned charter unsafe or impossible.
- Force majeure events outside our control.
In any of these cases, you choose between a free new date and a full refund. The captain's assessment of safety is final and is not open to negotiation on the day of the charter.
7. Guest capacity, boarding and the captain's authority
The number of guests on board may never exceed the licensed capacity of the vessel stated in your quote. The crew may refuse boarding to any person whose condition or behaviour would endanger the safety of guests, crew or the vessel.
Once on board, the captain has full authority over the vessel, the route, speed, anchoring and swimming stops, and over any decision affecting safety. Instructions from the captain or crew must be followed at all times; this includes decisions to shorten, reroute or end a charter early for safety reasons.
8. Itinerary, conduct on board and damage
The itinerary discussed at booking is indicative. The captain may adjust stops, timings or the route in light of weather, sea state, port restrictions or the safety of guests and crew; such adjustments are not a breach of the booking.
Guests are expected to behave in a way that does not put themselves, other guests or the crew at risk, and to follow the crew's safety instructions, including on the use of life jackets, tenders and water toys.
The client is responsible for damage to the yacht, its equipment or tender caused by guests through misuse, negligence or disregard of crew instructions, beyond normal wear and tear. Where a deposit or APA has been collected, any such damage may be deducted from it before the balance, if any, is returned.
9. Personal belongings and liability
Guests are responsible for their own belongings brought on board; we do not accept liability for loss of, or damage to, personal items left on the yacht, the tender or at the marina.
Our liability in connection with a charter is limited to the charter price paid for that booking, except where liability cannot be limited under Greek law, in particular for death or personal injury caused by our negligence. We are not liable for delays, changes or cancellations caused by weather, sea conditions, port authority decisions or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.
10. Complaints
If anything about your charter falls short of what was quoted, tell the captain or crew on board as soon as possible so it can be addressed during the charter. For any issue that cannot be resolved on board, write to [email protected] with your booking details and a description of the issue; we will respond and work towards a fair resolution.
11. Use of the website and its content
The descriptions, photographs, prices and availability shown on ebowling.eu are indicative and may be updated without notice; they do not themselves constitute a binding offer. A binding offer exists only once we issue a written quote and you receive written confirmation of your booking.
The content of the site — including yacht descriptions, images and text — belongs to Athens Yachts Rental or is used with the right holder's permission and may not be copied or reused without our consent.
12. Governing law, courts and changes to these terms
These terms, and any booking made through ebowling.eu, are governed by the law of Greece. Any dispute that cannot be resolved directly will be submitted to the courts of Athens, Greece.
We may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in our services; the version published on ebowling.eu at the time of your enquiry applies to your booking. Changes do not affect bookings already confirmed in writing.
